Ilitch Gaming Gains Full Ownership of Atlantic City’s Ocean Casino Resort

Ilitch Gaming has completed the purchase of the remaining 50% stake in Ocean Casino Resort, giving it full control of the 1,860‑room Atlantic City property. The transaction, first announced in June, follows Ilitch’s initial 2021 acquisition of a half interest; financial terms were not disclosed. CEO and Chief Development Officer John Policicchio said, “Atlantic City remains one of the country’s most important gaming and hospitality markets.” No changes to the resort’s name, management team, workforce or gaming operations were announced at closing. Ocean features a 135,000‑square‑foot casino floor, a 4,500‑seat entertainment venue and extensive meeting space. The deal expands Ilitch’s multistate casino platform, which already includes MotorCity Casino Hotel in Detroit and is pursuing the acquisition of Scarlet Pearl Casino Resort in Mississippi.
