Ilja Dragunov reportedly signs with AEW following WWE departure

Former WWE United States Champion Ilja Dragunov has reportedly signed a contract with All Elite Wrestling (AEW). According to reports from the Wrestling Observer Newsletter and Fightful Select, the move follows Dragunov’s departure from WWE after his contract expired in August.

While an official announcement from AEW has not yet been made, reports indicate that the promotion is already preparing internal graphics and backstage arrangements for his arrival. Dragunov is expected to debut “very soon,” though his timeline may be dependent on resolving visa administrative hurdles.

AEW President Tony Khan has previously spoken highly of Dragunov, describing him as a “tremendous wrestler.” Dragunov, a former NXT UK and NXT Champion, has been training vigorously following his exit from WWE.
