Illawarra Hawks sign Kelan Martin for NBL27 season

The Illawarra Hawks have signed American forward Kelan Martin for the NBL27 season. Martin, a 31-year-old who previously played for the Minnesota Timberwolves, Boston Celtics, and Indiana Pacers, joins the club following a stint with UCAM Murcia in Spain.

Martin’s signing was made possible by sharpshooter Tyler Harvey obtaining Australian citizenship in Wollongong. Harvey’s transition to local player status frees up an import spot for the Hawks and allows his contract to be classified as marqueeable under league rules. Martin is expected to fill the starting power forward position on the roster managed by Justin Tatum.
