Illegal Waste Dumping in Gia Lai Province Leads to Prosecution of Two Men

Police in Gia Lai Province have charged Nguyen Ngoc Anh, 58, and Le Van Nhanh, 42, with illegal dumping of more than 315 tonnes of solid waste on agricultural land in the Biên Hồ commune. The waste, consisting of basalt, granite fragments and processed stone powder, was placed without any protective measures, contaminating the environment and affecting local residents. Investigators say the waste originated from a stone‑processing plant in the Trà Đa industrial zone and was illegally deposited on land managed by Le Van Nhanh. The case is being expanded to determine the responsibility of any involved individuals or organisations.

The prosecution follows a broader effort by the Gia Lai police to enforce environmental regulations and prevent further pollution of farmland and waterways in the province.
