Carabinieri from the Ravanusa station arrested a 51‑year‑old resident after finding him delivering water intended for human consumption in an auto‑tank without the required transport documents, sanitary‑health authorisation, or proof of source. The vehicle was seized and the driver was not listed among the authorised suppliers of the municipal water company of Agrigento.
Sampling conducted by the ASP of Agrigento revealed the water contained Escherichia coli, intestinal enterococci and coliform bacteria at levels exceeding legal limits.
