Illia Zabarnyi defends Ligue 1 and criticizes Marine Le Pen

Following Paris Saint-Germain’s 3-1 victory over Strasbourg, Ukrainian defender Illia Zabarnyi addressed both the reputation of the French football league and the political situation in France.

Zabarnyi defended Ligue 1 against the “Farmers League” label, noting that playing in the French championship is not easy, particularly for PSG, and highlighted the quality of the opposition shown by Strasbourg.

On a political level, Zabarnyi responded to statements by Marine Le Pen regarding the potential reduction of French economic aid to Ukraine. He expressed support for President Emmanuel Macron’s stance, stating that defending Ukraine is a matter of defending all of Europe. He voiced hope that future French leadership would continue to provide support to his country.
