Illinois gubernatorial race features Pritzker and Bailey
Incumbent Governor JB Pritzker is seeking a third term in the Illinois gubernatorial election, facing Republican challenger Darren Bailey. Pritzker, who secured the Democratic nomination with 92% of the vote, is running on a platform focused on higher education access and financial aid. Recent polling indicates Pritzker holds 54% support compared to Bailey’s 34%.
Darren Bailey is campaigning for a fundamental shift away from current administration policies. The race also includes independent candidate Collin Corbett and his running mate, Carolyn Schofield.
The upcoming midterm election on November 3 will also feature contests for a federal Senate seat following the resignation of Senator Dick Durbin, all 17 federal House of Representatives seats, and various state executive and legislative roles.
