The University of Illinois women's soccer team secured its first victory of the 2026 season with a 2-1 comeback win against Cincinnati at Demirjian Park.
After being outshot in the first half, Cincinnati took an early lead in the 50th minute following a goal by Lexi O'Shea. Illinois responded quickly in the 54th minute when Cayla Jackson scored from 25 yards out to equalize. Hedda Ornberg eventually secured the win for the Illini with a goal in the 86th minute, assisted by a play from Ashlyn Adams. Illinois finished the match outshooting Cincinnati 12-5.
