Illinois State Police Opens New FOID and Concealed Carry Kiosk in Effingham
The Illinois State Police (ISP) has opened a new Firearm Owners Identification (FOID) kiosk at its Troop 9 headquarters in Effingham, Illinois (401 Industrial Drive #A). The kiosk operates Monday‑Friday, 8:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m.–4:30 p.m., providing in‑person assistance for FOID cards and Concealed Carry Licenses (CCL). Services include help with name or address changes, renewals, new applications, taking and uploading photos, correcting rejected applications, submitting Firearm Disposition Records, and surrendering FOID/CCL cards when required. A public computer is available for completing online applications.
ISP already runs kiosks in Springfield and Du Quoin, with additional locations in Collinsville and Lockport slated to reopen later this fall. The new Effingham kiosk aims to aid residents who encounter difficulties with the online system or lack internet access.
