Illinois volleyball defeats Marquette in five-set match

The University of Illinois volleyball team defeated Marquette University in a five-set match at Huff Hall on Sunday. The victory improves Illinois to a 5-3 record on the season, while Marquette falls to 3-4.

Illinois controlled the early stages of the match, winning the first two sets 25-15 and 25-11. Paityn Chapman recorded 16 kills and 17 digs, while Alyssa Aguayo contributed 16 kills and six blocks. The team achieved several season highs during the match, including 73 kills and 86 digs.

Marquette fought back to win the third set after a series of lead changes. Carson Tyler led the Golden Eagles with 17 kills and 12 digs, while Emma Parks added 12 kills and four blocks.
