Collegiate sports results: Illinois, Minnesota, and South Dakota secure victories

In recent collegiate athletic competitions, several teams secured notable victories across volleyball, soccer, and swimming.

In volleyball, the University of Illinois defeated No. 22 Michigan State in four sets, improving their record to 12-6. The Illini are scheduled to host Michigan in their annual ‘Hail to the Orange Out’ match. Similarly, No. 21 Minnesota earned its third consecutive win by defeating Michigan in four sets. In a closely contested match, South Dakota defeated North Dakota State 3-2 in a five-set thriller.

In soccer, Bemidji State defeated Winona State 2-1, with Madisen Fritel and Olivia Seurer providing the scoring. In swimming and diving, the University of Illinois won a Pentathlon-style meet against Iowa State with a score of 2201.5 to 1288.5.

Conversely, Bemidji State’s volleyball team fell to No. 2 Wayne State College in a 3-0 sweep.
