Illinois woman accused of killing 2-year-old son

Corie Walsh, 38, has been accused of killing her 2-year-old son, Barrett, in Illinois. According to court documents, Walsh allegedly killed the child during a psychotic episode, claiming she believed he was the ‘Antichrist’. The child was found by a neighbor hanging from a beam in the basement of the home; the cause of death was determined to be asphyxiation by ligature.

Walsh’s defense attorney stated that the accused was obsessed with the Lindsay Clancy case, which may have influenced her mental state. Despite prosecutors alleging that Walsh also planned to poison her husband, he has reportedly declared his support for her.
