Illumi Maeda sets Guinness World Record as youngest female club DJ

Six-year-old Illumi Maeda, performing under the name DJ ILLU, has set a new Guinness World Record as the world’s youngest female club DJ. The record-breaking performance took place in Yokohama, Kanagawa, where she played a set lasting more than one hour.

Maeda began receiving DJ lessons at the age of three. Despite facing technical equipment issues and nerves during her performance, she successfully completed her set. She surpassed the previous record held by fellow Japanese DJ RINOKA.

Influenced by her mother’s diverse musical tastes and the music of Avicii, Maeda expressed a desire to use her music to lift people’s spirits and provide comfort during difficult times. Her future ambitions include performing at international festivals and potentially opening an ice cream shop.
