Illuminating Engineering Society to manage National Lighting Bureau

The Illuminating Engineering Society (IES) has entered into a management agreement with the National Lighting Bureau (NLB), effective September 1, 2026. Under this arrangement, IES will assume administrative, operational, and financial management of the NLB. The NLB will maintain its own Board of Directors and independence regarding its strategic direction and programming. Tom Butters, the current Executive Director of the NLB, will continue to handle day-to-day administrative and operational functions.

The honors, announced during the IES Annual Conference in Denver, highlight advancements in lighting technology, specifically focusing on hazardous location lighting and high-temperature environments.
