Ilčo Gjorgjioski released from detention in FFM corruption case

Former President of the Football Federation of Macedonia (FFM), Ilčo Gjorgjioski, has been released from detention following a court decision in Skopje. The court accepted a property guarantee valued at approximately 508,000 euros and imposed precautionary measures, including requirements to appear in court and the revocation of his driver's license.

Two other individuals, Tomislav Mladenovski and Gjoko Çubrinovski, were also released from detention under similar conditions. Mladenovski provided a guarantee of 206,000 euros, while Çubrinovski provided a guarantee of 1,600,000 euros. Another former FFM president, Muhamed Sejdini, had previously provided a 1,000,000 euro guarantee.

The legal proceedings stem from an investigation into organized crime and corruption involving the suspected embezzlement of over 180 million denars (approximately 2.4 million euros) within the FFM. The investigation, conducted by the Basic Public Prosecutor's Office for Organized Crime and Corruption in coordination with the Financial Police and the Ministry of Internal Affairs, involved raids on multiple locations in Skopje.
