Ilson Romanelli elected president of Brazil's Sociedade Rural do Paraná

The Sociedade Rural do Paraná (SRP) held its ordinary general assembly in Londrina on Saturday, 25 May and elected a new board to serve the 2026‑2028 term. The slate led by Ilson Romanelli secured the presidency, with the new executive expected to assume office within ten days.

Romanelli is a rural producer, quarter‑horse breeder and entrepreneur who runs a family‑named company that supplies paving equipment for agricultural infrastructure in Brazil and abroad. He previously served on SRP’s Superior Council and held the posts of Commercial Director and Equinoculture Director. In his inaugural remarks he pledged to keep the centenary association open to dialogue, to strengthen innovation, sustainability and regional development, and to broaden the representation of Paraná’s agribusiness at the national level.

The Sociedade Rural do Paraná, founded in 1946, is a key representative body for Brazil’s agribusiness sector and organizer of the large ExpoLondrina fair. Its leadership change is seen as a continuation of its role in advocating for producers and shaping the strategic direction of the state’s agricultural economy.
