ILTA reports 94% generative AI adoption in legal sector
The International Legal Technology Association (ILTA) has released its 2026 Technology Survey, a comprehensive report involving 508 firms and over 139,000 attorneys. A key finding from the survey is the rapid adoption of generative AI, with 94% of firms currently using or exploring these tools. This represents a 14% increase from the previous year, with adoption rates ranging from 85% in small firms to 100% in large firms.
Complementing these findings, the ILTACON conference in Nashville, Tennessee, saw record attendance with over 5,500 participants. The event highlighted the maturity of the U.S. LegalTech market, which is estimated to be valued between $5.7 billion and $7.3 billion. The sector is characterized by intense competition among high-value companies, such as Harvey, valued at $15.5 billion, and Legora, valued at $5.6 billion.
