Iltani Resources completes ore sorting trials at Orient project
Iltani Resources has announced the successful completion of initial ore sorting testwork on a five-tonne bulk sample from its Orient silver-indium project in northern Queensland. The trials utilized TOMRA’s Dual-Energy X-Ray Transmission (DE-XRT) system and contAIne™ AI algorithm to differentiate valuable material from waste.
Results from the processing showed that 22 per cent of the total feed material was successfully separated into a product stream, while 56 per cent was directed to waste. An additional 22 per cent was classified as fines, consisting of material smaller than 6.3mm. The mass split varied by grade: the high-grade feed saw a 34 per cent product recovery, the medium-grade feed 22 per cent, and the low-grade feed 19 per cent.
The sorted material has been dispatched to Core Metallurgy in Brisbane for the next phase of metallurgical assessment. This upcoming stage will involve flotation testwork, sampling, and assays to determine concentrate grades and metal recoveries for silver, indium, lead, and zinc.
