Ilyas Ansah transfers from Union Berlin to Hull City
Ilyas Ansah is transferring from German Bundesliga club Union Berlin to Premier League newcomer Hull City. The 21-year-old striker has signed a five-year contract with the English side, which is set to run until 2031.
While Union Berlin has not officially disclosed the transfer fee, media reports suggest the deal could be worth up to 22 million euros. This would establish a new record sale for the Berlin-based club, surpassing the previous record of approximately 20 million euros set by Taiwo Awoniyi’s move to Nottingham Forest. One report specifies a structure of 17 million euros paid directly with an additional 4 million euros in installments.
Ansah joined Union Berlin from SC Paderborn in the summer of 2025. During his tenure, he appeared in 32 to 37 competitive matches and scored five goals. Union Berlin’s Managing Director of Sport, Horst Heldt, described the offer from Hull City as “very attractive” and expressed gratitude to the player for his contributions to the team.
