İlyas Mirzayev's 2nd Violin Concerto world premiere held in Antalya
The Antalya State Symphony Orchestra (ADSO) hosted the world premiere of composer İlyas Mirzayev's 2nd Violin Concerto at the Atatürk Cultural Center Aspendos Hall. Conducted by Nikos Haliassas, the performance featured violinist Olgu Kızılay, to whom the piece was specifically dedicated. The three-part concerto explores themes of human conflict, freedom, love, and compassion, including a lullaby dedicated to Kızılay's newborn daughter, Dafne.
Following the premiere, Mirzayev performed his composition ‘Leyla’ on the piano, accompanied by Kızılay and the orchestra. The second half of the program included selections from Georges Bizet's Carmen opera suites, such as ‘Habanera’ and ‘Chanson du Toreador’.
As part of an environmental responsibility initiative, tree donations were made to the Antalya forests in the names of Mirzayev, Kızılay, and Haliassas in lieu of traditional congratulatory flowers.
