I’m donut? opens first Southeast Asian store in Kuala Lumpur
Japanese doughnut specialist I’m donut? has opened its first Southeast Asian location at The Exchange TRX in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Founded by chef Ryouta Hirako, the brand is known for its signature ‘nama’ doughnuts, which feature a soft, delicate texture.
The store offers approximately 40 varieties, including signature items like the Nama French Cruller and Pistachio Cream. To mark its Malaysian debut, the shop introduced 15 exclusive flavors incorporating local ingredients and culinary traditions, such as pandan, kaya jam, and ‘cham’ (a local coffee and tea blend). Specific local creations include a Sweet Potato Tiramisu, Chicken Masala Sandwich, and Pandan Coconut Cream doughnut.
On its opening day, September 12, 2026, large crowds gathered at the mall, with over 200 people queuing before the official opening time.
