iM Financial Group reports record capital adequacy in Q3

iM Financial Group announced its third-quarter cumulative results, reporting a net profit attributable to controlling interests of 416.3 billion won, a 3.6% decrease compared to the same period last year. Despite the slight decline in profit, the group saw significant growth in its loan assets, which increased by 7.6% since the end of last year, driven largely by a 10.8% surge in corporate loans at iM Bank.

Key indicators of financial health reached record levels. The group’s Common Equity Tier 1 (CET1) ratio rose to 12.39%, surpassing its initial 2027 target of 12.3% more than a year ahead of schedule. Asset quality also improved, with the group’s non-performing loan (NPL) ratio dropping to 1.18% and the loan loss provision ratio falling to 0.48%.

Subsidiary performance varied: iM Capital saw a 20% increase in cumulative net profit to 56.5 billion won, while iM Securities and iM Life reported profits of 72.2 billion won and 11.2 billion won, respectively. Following its recent completion of a 30 billion won treasury stock buyback, the group plans to cancel the shares within a month to enhance shareholder value.
