IMA Schelling Precision unveils xm 250 automated cutting saw
IMA Schelling Precision has announced the xm 250, its first largely standardized cutting saw designed for mass production. The machine is intended for use with aluminum, non-ferrous metals, and both solid and hollow profiles.
The xm 250 aims to automate the entire process from loading to transport, addressing previous industry reliance on manual processes or improvised plate saws. Key technical specifications include a 62-kW motor, a cutting height of 250 mm, a cutting length of 650 mm, and an insertion depth ranging from 3,000 to 6,500 mm.
A central feature is the fully automatic pressure bar. Once a profile shape is selected, the machine automatically measures height and width to adjust pressure forces and cutting parameters. This is specifically designed to protect sensitive, thin-walled materials from deformation during clamping. The product will make its debut at the ALUMINIUM 2026 trade fair in Düsseldorf, held from October 6 to 8.
