Imagen Foundation honors Latino excellence at 41st Annual Awards
The 41st Annual Imagen Awards took place at The Beverly Hilton, celebrating excellence in Latino film, television, and streaming. The ceremony presented 33 awards to artists and creators advancing authentic Latino representation in the entertainment industry.
Veteran actor Andy Garcia received the Lifetime Achievement Award for his four-decade career and commitment to Latino storytelling. Apple TV’s ‘Acapulco’ was a major winner, securing awards for Best Director (Oscar Almengor), Best Supporting Actor – Comedy (Eugenio Derbez), Best Supporting Actress – Comedy (Vanesa Bauche), and a tie for Best Actor – Comedy (Enrique Arrizon). The series also received the Creative Achievement Award and the award for Best Music Supervision.
Other notable winners included ‘Brownsville Bred’ for Best Feature Film, Dolores Fonzi for Best Actress in ‘Belén’, ‘Will Trent’ for Best Drama Series, and ‘Scrubs’ for Best Comedy Series. Manuel Garcia-Rulfo won Best Actor – Drama for ‘The Lincoln Lawyer’, while Amirah Vahn took Best Actress – Drama for ‘Doc’.
