Imam Oussama El-Saadi sentenced to prison for social fraud

Oussama El-Saadi, the imam of the Grimhøjmoskeen in Brabrand near Aarhus, has been sentenced to one year and six months in prison for extensive social fraud. The Vestre Landsret upheld a previous district court ruling, finding that El-Saadi and his cousin falsely claimed to live separately to receive increased disability pensions and housing benefits.

Over a four-year period, the pair received approximately 738,000 Danish kroner more than they were entitled to. Following the verdict, Mohammad Rona, the political spokesperson for the Moderates, called on prominent Muslim voices in Denmark to distance themselves from such individuals, stating that such actions damage the reputation of the broader Muslim community.
