Imanol Ansa refutes claims of selfishness in professional dispute

Pelota player Imanol Ansa has issued a formal statement titled ‘Faces of Egoism’ to refute claims made by Oriamendi management regarding his professional conduct and financial arrangements.

Ansa denies allegations that he acts solely in his own interest. He has called for clear, transparent, and equally applied criteria for all professional players. Addressing previous disputes, Ansa clarified that he and fellow player Aritz Juanenea had previously requested salary increases, contradicting claims that he was the only one to do so. He also noted that he had previously offered to take on coaching duties to support the company, an offer that was declined.

Ansa expressed frustration over the use of private WhatsApp conversations to damage his reputation and criticized the recent press conference by Oriamendi officials as an attempt to justify his exclusion from the Buruz Buruko Championship and to stigmatize him as selfish.
