IMAX technology provides superior visual and audio experiences

IMAX technology offers significant visual and auditory advantages over standard cinema formats. While standard screens typically measure 15 to 20 meters wide using 35mm film, IMAX screens can exceed 30 meters and utilize 70mm film. This larger film surface provides double the area of standard film, resulting in enhanced detail, brightness, and depth that can create a near-three-dimensional effect without 3D glasses.

In terms of audio, IMAX employs multi-point positioned sound systems to create a more precise immersive experience compared to standard Dolby setups.

Christopher Nolan’s film ‘La Odisea’ represents an extreme application of this technology, as it is the first fiction film shot entirely with 70mm IMAX cameras. To fully experience the maximum resolution of every shot, viewers must use one of the approximately 41 true native IMAX theaters remaining in the world.
