Imbé appoints 30 new municipal guards to reach record force size

The municipality of Imbé has appointed 30 new municipal guards following a public competition. This expansion will bring the total number of guards to 65, marking the largest force in the city's history.

The appointments, signed by Mayor Ique Vedovato, are part of the ‘Imbé Ainda Mais Seguro’ public security plan. The new cohort includes women, fulfilling a municipal requirement established in 2023 that mandates a minimum of 10% female representation in the force.

Before beginning active duty, the new officers must complete a documentation process, medical examinations, and an approximately 1,000-hour training course. This training will be conducted for the first time by the local Academy of Training and Improvement of the Imbé Municipal Guard (AFAGMI).
