Marcelo Stadler, 53, was found dead in a wheat field in the rural area of Imbituva, Paraná, on Monday morning. The body, located approximately 200 meters from a farmstead, showed two perforations believed to be gunshot wounds.
Police investigations suggest the incident may be linked to a previous theft of electrical wiring. Stadler had reportedly mentioned finding stolen wiring the previous night and intended to wait for those responsible to return. A witness also reported hearing gunshots during the night.
The Civil Police located a suspect hiding in a field about 1.5 kilometers from the crime scene. Authorities seized a .357 caliber revolver, suspected to be the murder weapon. The suspect reportedly confessed to the crime, claiming he was caught while stealing electrical wiring from a nearby shed, which led to a physical struggle.
