IMDA considers natural grass for Infonavit Mochicahui football pitch
The Municipal Institute of Sports (IMDA) is considering replacing the synthetic turf at the Infonavit Mochicahui park football pitch with natural grass.
José Pablo García Cota, director of the IMDA, stated that the current synthetic surface is in very poor condition due to significant wear and lack of maintenance. He noted that installing synthetic turf again would be costly and likely result in similar damage because the facility lacks a perimeter fence to protect the area.
The original remodeling of the park, which included the installation of synthetic turf, was completed in 2018 following a federal investment. Officials have urged local coaches and athletes to better care for sports facilities to prevent such deterioration.
