Regional sports initiatives expand across Latin America

Various regional sports initiatives and tournaments are underway across Latin America. In Argentina, the Federación Entrerriana de Fútbol will host over 150 sports leaders in Concepción del Uruguay on September 26 to launch the Copa de Entre Ríos. Additionally, the province of Jujuy is expanding its sports reach with the inaugural Copa Jujuy de Boxeo, while the Juegos Forja program continues provincial stages for taekwondo, badminton, and table tennis.

In Mendoza, the Spanish club Deportivo La Coruña will conduct a football clinic for youth players in December. Other regional activities include a large-scale padel tournament in Catamarca, a minibasketball binational meeting in Trevelin involving Chilean delegations, and a major volleyball tournament in Santa Fe that celebrated its 40th anniversary with over 1,000 participants.

In the Dominican Republic, the Instituto Nacional de Educación Física (Inefi) has begun distributing sports equipment and renovating courts in 30 educational centers across Gran Santo Domingo and San Cristóbal. Meanwhile, in Uruguay, Conmebol President Alejandro Domínguez met with local officials to discuss the upcoming Copa Libertadores final and potential hosting of the South American U-20 Championship.
