IMF missions meet with officials in Croatia and Serbia regarding fiscal policy

International Monetary Fund (IMF) missions recently met with government officials in Croatia and Serbia to discuss macroeconomic stability, fiscal policy, and economic outlooks.

In Croatia, an IMF mission led by Yan Sun met with the Croatian National Bank and the Ministry of Finance. Discussions focused on inflation, fiscal sustainability, and the implementation of reforms under the National Recovery and Resilience Plan. The Ministry of Finance also presented preparations for the 2026 state budget and discussed the European Union’s Multiannual Financial Framework for 2028–2034.

In Serbia, Finance Minister Siniša Mali met with an IMF delegation led by Anette Kjobe regarding the fourth review of the Policy Coordination Instrument (PCI). Mali reported that Serbia aims to keep its budget deficit near 2.75 percent and noted that inflation reached 1.9 percent in July. The discussions addressed managing public debt and maintaining an investment cycle despite global economic pressures and geopolitical conflicts.
