IMF praises Côte d'Ivoire for successful economic program

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has expressed satisfaction with Côte d'Ivoire's economic performance following the conclusion of its 2023–2026 economic and financial program. Aminata Touré, the IMF Resident Representative in Côte d'Ivoire, described the implementation of the program as a “frank success” after meeting with President Alassane Ouattara.

Key achievements noted by the IMF include the resolution of major macroeconomic imbalances and a significant improvement in public debt management. The country's over-indebtedness risk rating transitioned from a moderate level at the start of the program to a low level upon its completion. Additionally, the budget deficit has been reduced to within the 3% limit of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
