IMIP hosts 509 interns to boost industrial workforce competence

Indonesia Morowali Industrial Park (IMIP) is currently hosting 509 students and vocational high school graduates in an internship program designed to bridge the gap between education and industrial needs. The initiative aims to prepare human resources for the growing processing and downstreaming industries within the region.

According to Trisno Wasito, HR Operation Head of IMIP, the program utilizes three specific schemes: the Ministry of Manpower Internship Hub, the Ministry of Industry Internship, and standard internship or Field Work Practice (PKL) programs. Beyond technical expertise, the training emphasizes soft skills such as communication, analysis, teamwork, discipline, and strict adherence to occupational safety standards.

To ensure the quality of the learning process, IMIP provides mentorship, clear learning objectives, and relevant tasks. The park also collaborates with institutions such as the Morowali Metal Industry Polytechnic and Swiss Skills for Competitiveness to enhance program effectiveness.
