IMM România launches parliamentary support group for SMEs

IMM România has launched an informal, voluntary, and cross-party support group within the Romanian Parliament. The group aims to facilitate continuous dialogue to ensure public policies are adapted to the actual needs of entrepreneurs.

Comprising members of the IMM România Employer Confederation and parliamentarians from all groups in both the Senate and the Chamber of Deputies, the group plans to hold periodic meetings. The initiative focuses on resolving urgent business environment issues, developing new economic support measures, and rigorously filtering draft laws through what is termed the ‘IMM Test’.

Initial discussions have addressed several critical topics, including fuel price margins, professional diesel legislation for agriculture, CAEN code updates, maritime transport and port administration, and the optimization of the Rabla program. The Confederation represents over 12% of all companies in Romania, employing more than 500,000 people nationwide.
