Immadi Ravi seeks release of Rs 3 crore frozen in piracy investigation

Immadi Ravi, the alleged operator of the movie piracy website iBomma, has petitioned the 9th Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Court at Nampally to unfreeze approximately Rs 3 crore in his bank accounts. Ravi, also known as ‘iBomma Ravi’, claims that the frozen funds and property-related deposits have caused severe financial hardship, leaving him unable to meet his family’s basic expenses.

The assets were seized by the Hyderabad Central Crime Station (CCS) Police as part of an investigation into what authorities describe as one of India’s largest online piracy networks. Police investigations alleged that the network used mirror websites and servers to distribute unauthorized high-definition films and that seized hard drives contained around 21,000 movies.

Ravi, a 39-year-old citizen of Saint Kitts and Nevis, was arrested in November 2025. After spending nearly 90 days in jail, he was granted conditional bail by the Telangana High Court in February. His bail conditions include surrendering his passport, appearing daily before investigating officers, and refraining from operating any piracy-related platforms.
