Immanuel Feyi-Waboso to undergo scan for hamstring injury

Exeter Chiefs winger Immanuel Feyi-Waboso is scheduled to undergo a scan this week following a suspected hamstring injury. The 23-year-old was forced to leave the pitch 15 minutes into the second half of the Chiefs’ 34-28 Premiership victory over the Newcastle Red Bulls at Sandy Park.

Exeter Chiefs director of rugby Rob Baxter noted that while the injury is a concern, it does not appear to be “catastrophic” and is likely an issue of overloading the muscle. The injury comes at a critical time, as England head coach Steve Borthwick was in attendance and may need the winger for upcoming November internationals against Australia, Japan, and New Zealand.

Feyi-Waboso has been a key player for both club and country, having started all three of the Chiefs’ Premiership matches and all three of England’s recent Nations Championship fixtures.
