Immer wieder sonntags ends after 31 years with final 2026 season

The German music‑and‑entertainment show „Immer wieder sonntags" on Das Erste, hosted by Stefan Mross, will conclude its 31st season in 2026. Thirteen live episodes are scheduled from the Europa‑Park in Rust between 31 May and 6 September 2026, with a best‑of special on 13 September. The series, which has aired for more than three decades, ends because the SWR program director cites insufficient budget to continue the programme.

More than 130 artists are slated to appear across the season, including Beatrice Egli, Andy Borg, Hansi Hinterseer, and many other Schlager and folk performers. In a Facebook‑posted video, Mross expressed bittersweet feelings about the show's termination, hoping the format may return in some form. The final live broadcast is set for 6 September 2026, after which the series will be retired from the ARD lineup.
