Immersive exhibition 'Hábitats' to open in Vigo

The immersive exhibition ‘Hábitats. Naturaleza extendida’ is set to open at the Sede Afundación in Vigo on November 12, 2026. Using virtual and augmented reality, the installation allows visitors to explore diverse global ecosystems, including the Sonoran Desert in the United States, the Great Barrier Reef in Australia, the Weddell Sea in Antarctica, and the Cova de Ceza in O Courel.

Participants use specialized glasses that overlay digital landscapes, plants, and animals—such as elephants, whales, turtles, and axolotls—onto the physical room without completely isolating them from their surroundings. The exhibition aims to highlight both the beauty and fragility of nature to encourage conservation reflection. The installation will remain open until March 13, 2027.
