Immich releases version 3.2 with redesigned search and facial recognition updates
Immich, the open-source self-hosted photo and video management platform, has released version 3.2. This update introduces a redesigned web search interface and a rebuilt Search API v2, which allows for more complex filtering using AND and OR operations.
A major new feature is cluster groups, which enables trusted users on the same instance to recognize people across shared assets. To apply this feature retroactively to existing installations, users must reset facial recognition for the group, which will result in the loss of existing names and birth dates associated with machine-learning-recognized faces.
Other notable updates include new automation workflows triggered by tags, a dedicated Memories page for viewing past highlights, and improved tag management and duplicate handling.
