Imo State political parties condemn reported relocation of collation centres
Political parties in Imo State, including the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the Action Peoples Party (APP), have condemned reported attempts to relocate electoral collation centres within the Ideato North/South Federal Constituency.
The reported move would shift the collation centre from Urualla in Ideato North to Dikenafai in Ideato South. Both parties expressed concern that such a decision, if made without transparent consultation with stakeholders, could undermine the electoral process and create unnecessary tension.
The parties specifically challenged the reported use of security concerns as a justification for the relocation. They argued that any such claim must be supported by clear, independently verifiable security assessments rather than being used as a cover for administrative decisions. The APP also noted similar concerns regarding potential changes affecting the Nkwerre/Isu/Njaba/Nwangele (NINN) Federal Constituency.
