Imola hosts 10th Historic Minardi Day with 20,000 fans

The tenth edition of the Historic Minardi Day concluded at the Autodromo Internazionale Enzo e Dino Ferrari in Imola, drawing over 20,000 spectators. The event featured 590 racing cars on the track, supplemented by an additional 200 vehicles in parades and rallies.

A central highlight was the display of 34 historic Formula 1 cars, spanning over forty years of racing history. Notable models included the 1971 Ferrari 312 B2, the Tyrrell P34/2, and the 2013 Toro Rosso STR8. The weekend also showcased various categories such as Formula 2, Formula 3, GP2, GP3, and historic GT cars, alongside modern hypercars like the Pagani Huayra R and Lamborghini Revuelto.

The festivities began with a traditional lap by Gian Carlo Minardi in a 1956 Lotus Eleven. The event served as a gathering for motorsport legends, including drivers Riccardo Patrese, Pierluigi Martini, Arturo Merzario, and Thierry Boutsen. Beyond the track, the Checco Costa Museum hosted book presentations and meetings, while the fifth Ferdinando Minardi Memorial was awarded to motorsport historian Massimo Campodoni.
