Imoo dominates China's children's smartwatch market

Imoo (Tiểu Thiên Tài), a brand owned by BBK Electronics, has captured 35.3% of the children's smartwatch market in China during the first half of 2025, representing a 47.6% increase compared to the same period last year. According to Counterpoint Research, the brand ranks fourth globally in the overall smartwatch industry, holding a 7% market share and surpassing Samsung.

The brand's dominance is driven by social features such as “tap-to-friend,” social circles, and a “like” system that only function between devices of the same brand. This has created a high switching cost for users; children using competing brands like Huawei or Xiaomi can make calls but are excluded from the Imoo social ecosystem. Reports indicate that many parents in China purchase the devices to prevent their children from facing social isolation in school environments where Imoo devices are the norm.
