IMOVEQROO expands service access for transport concessionaires across Quintana Roo

Starting in August 2026, the Instituto de Movilidad del Estado de Quintana Roo (IMOVEQROO) will allow public‑transport concessionaires to submit concession‑related procedures at its delegations throughout the state, including Benito Juárez, Puerto Morelos, Cozumel, Playa del Carmen, Isla Mujeres, Tulum and Felipe Carrillo Puerto, as well as the sub‑delegations of Lázaro Cárdenas and José María Morelos. The permitted procedures cover transfer of rights, transfer upon death, certification, concession modification and beneficiary designation.

The change is intended to cut travel time, lower costs and speed up administrative processing, officials said. IMOVEQROO director Rafael Hernández Kotasek noted that the move “facilitates the lives of concessionaires, reduces costs and strengthens a more efficient, transparent and socially‑sensible service.” The initiative aligns with the Nuevo Acuerdo por el Bienestar y Desarrollo de Quintana Roo promoted by Governor Mara Lezama Espinosa. Concessions operating in Chetumal, Bacalar and Mahahual will continue to file documents at the Chetumal office.
