Impact Minerals reports ultra-low uranium levels in Lake Hope HPA

Impact Minerals has reported high-purity alumina (HPA) results from its Lake Hope Project in Western Australia, characterized by exceptionally low levels of uranium and thorium. Independent analysis conducted by Eurofins EAG Laboratories showed that three of the four samples achieved uranium and thorium levels at or below 1 part per billion (ppb).

The results were achieved using the company's patented low-temperature leach (LTL) process without the need for a dedicated radionuclide removal stage. The levels meet industry standards for “zero-alpha” and “low-alpha” alumina, which are critical for advanced semiconductor packaging and thermal management materials where radioactive impurities can compromise chip reliability.

Three of the samples reached 4N HPA purity, exceeding 99.99% aluminum oxide, while the fourth achieved 99.977% purity. Impact Minerals intends to use these findings to support pilot-scale optimization through a research program with Edith Cowan University.
