Imperatriz's Expoimp draws 350,000 visitors and $1 billion in deals

The 56th edition of Expoimp opened on Saturday, July 4, in Imperatriz, Maranhão, featuring a traditional opening cavalcade and a nine‑day agenda of agribusiness, commerce, culture and entertainment. Organized by the Imperatriz Rural Union (Sinrural), the fair expects more than 350,000 visitors and up to R$1 billion in transactions, positioning it as one of the largest agricultural events in Brazil's North and Northeast regions.

Highlights include cultural concerts by artists such as Léo Magalhães, Calcinha Preta, Eduardo Costa and Luan Santana, a four‑day open‑gate schedule with free entry, a rodeo competition, children’s activities through the Fazendinha Kids project, livestock auctions, professional courses in partnership with FAEMA and SENAR, and a series of panels and forums aimed at strengthening the regional agribusiness sector.

The fair runs until July 12, drawing exhibitors, producers, entrepreneurs and visitors from across the country, and is promoted as a catalyst for economic growth and knowledge exchange in Maranhão and the Tocantins basin.
