Imperia launches pilot waste collection project

The Imperia municipal administration has launched a three-month pilot project to improve domestic waste management. Starting September 1 and running until December 31, waste collection points in the Ferriere area will operate with extended hours, allowing citizens to drop off waste between 6:00 and 24:00.

Assessors Laura Gandolfo and Antonio Gagliano stated the initiative aims to address citizen requests for greater flexibility. The administration intends to use this trial to evaluate its impact on increasing recycling rates, maintaining urban decorum, reducing illegal dumping, and ensuring the correct sorting of waste fractions. Current collection schedules for residents will remain unchanged.
