Imperial Petroleum reports record Q2 2026 revenue of $87.1 million

Imperial Petroleum has reported record quarterly revenue of $87.1 million for the second quarter of 2026, representing a 139.9% increase compared to the same period in the previous year. Net income for the quarter rose 171.9% to $34.8 million, up from $12.8 million a year prior.

The company attributed this growth to an expanded average fleet, which grew to 21 vessels from 14.1 vessels in the prior-year quarter, as well as higher charter rates for tankers and dry bulk vessels. Imperial noted that geopolitical tensions contributed to higher tanker rates, while favorable market conditions supported dry bulk rates.

For the first half of 2026, the company’s net income reached $62.8 million, already surpassing its total net income of $50 million for the entire year of 2025. As of June 30, cash and cash equivalents reached $245.2 million, with a total current cash position of approximately $260 million.
