Impersonator posing as insurance fire‑safety officer steals cash from two homes in Germany

On 30 June 2026 a man claiming to be a fire‑safety officer for an insurance company knocked on a house in Bliesdalheim, entered under the pretext of a safety check, and stole cash from the resident. The same method was used the following day in Walsheim, where the suspect again presented himself as a fire‑safety officer to gain access and pilfer money. Police describe the suspect as a slender, 55‑year‑old male, 170‑175 cm tall, with a Western European appearance and accent‑free German. They have asked anyone with information to contact the Homburg police inspection at 06841/1060.
