Impruneta hosts exhibition on Punto Tavarnelle embroidery tradition
The Società Corale di Impruneta is hosting an exhibition titled ‘Un filo che emancipa’ (A thread that emancipates) to celebrate the ancient art of embroidery and its impact on local identity. The exhibition focuses on the ‘Punto Tavarnelle’, a significant traditional Tuscan craft.
Scheduled to run from October 11 to October 18 at the Società headquarters in Impruneta, the event aims to document and value this artisanal heritage. The exhibition highlights how embroidery provided women with opportunities for economic autonomy and personal growth. The display will feature archival photographs, historical artifacts, and testimonies, supported by materials from the Polo Museale di Arte Sacra di San Pietro in Bossolo.
